Since we have been learning about Revolutions....
This is a revolutionary movement that is taking place tonight!

Think about how these statements below and  connect it to the stuff we have been talking about:

1. a lot of littles can make a difference
2. flip that feudral pyramid
3. social media is making us see each other not caring about man-made boundries
4. making the invisible children visible
5. empowering your voice


Also think about:
1. Why does he ask for money?
2. Should the USA send more troops to another foreign country?
3. Is it legal to 'cover the night'?
4. Is USA really the 'great power'?

FatherMiguel Hildago: A poor preist that inspired Mexicans to improve their lives.

Union: A group of workers who join together to make working conditions better.
Strike:Workers who leave their jobs until demands are met.
Socialism: A belief that workers in the world should unite and seize economic power. 
Nationalism: A form of national pride.
Robert Folton:The engineer that created the steamboat.
Karl Marx:The German born thinker who was credited for his ideas as socialism. 
Imperialism: One country's control over another country's government and economy.

During the 1800’s European countries controlled Africa and all of their resources. Some of the resources that
European countries wanted were ivory, gold, diamonds, oil, and rubber. They wanted all these natural resources
to help keep the industrial revolution going in their country. They didn’t have enough natural resources so they stole,
 enslaved, and even killed people for these things. They even sent missionaries to Africa to change their religion because
Europeans thought that what African’s believed was wrong and primitive. Africa is not the only country that this happened to.

The Great Shake Out

At 10:15 a.m. on April 17, 2012*, thousands of Utahns will "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" in The Great Utah ShakeOut, the largest earthquake drill in Utah history!

Spring Creek will be participating and encouraging our students to talk with their parents on what they can do to be prepared!

Napoleon Bonaparte- 26 year old general, created an absolute ruler- a dictator (himself) -conquered other nations, redrew the map of France, made taxes equal for all citizens, ended serfdom, lost at the battle of Waterloo in 1814, exiled for France

your group has been assigned one of the topics of our revolutions unit.  Together you must create a play that teaches us about your topic.  Your play must:
-tell the story of your topic
-include all major people
-teach important vocabularly
-include all members of your group in an active role
Have fun and be creative with this project.  Make sure that all group members have a chance to contribute equally.  As always, you will have a chance to evaluate your group members after the project.
