Have seating chart pulled up.
Have powerschool pulled up. Take Roll.
Students should have gotten a fun sheet from reading the starter board. REMIND THEM TO - DO NOT WRITE ON THEM. We don’t need 150 current events on the crossed-eyed opossum. Tell the students to just follow along. Reward the table (s) that have the most people that grabbed a current event funsheet with a point.
Give your current event. Stress the ‘happy’ news
Listening Quick Game- ask the students to raise hand if they know the answer, (What’s the title…. What’s the location of where you found the article- (internet & picture)…..when did it happen…why did you choose it……..how did it make you feel..…
- give points per table for each right answer.
Play Your Beach Ball Name Game- Remember classroom management. If they get squirrely- stomp on them. You’re the diva I would do like 10 questions. Go with flow- remember they need to finish their flow charts.
Flow Chart- Due tomorrow with a mini-presentation. Colored/ mini-captions- 9 total
Radio on. Go around and collect the Current Event Fun Sheet- to get ready for the next class.
Feel free to reward the students who are done with their Flow Chart and ready to present tomorrow- we like fast, organized workers
1st, 3rd, -Let go 1 minute early
4th- lunch early
6th, 7th- let go 1 minute early
