The Great Wall and The Clay Soldiers

The Great Wall

Frequently throughtout Chinese history, herding people from the northn steppes had raided the rich lands of China. Shihuangdi ordered protective walls to be built to block these invasions. Years later, similiar walls were built across the same mountians and valleys.

Clay Army

One of the greatest building projects of the Qin Empire was the construction of the tomb for Shihuangdi. He has 8,000 clap soldiers and horses placed in his tomb. Each soldier was a portrait of an actual person! He wanted a spirt army to protect him in the after-life.
