Herdsmen watch over their animals with great care. They talk to their cattle like children and give them names. They lived with their herd and know how to assist cows with calving. But, in all three Kingdoms, Old- Middle- and New- herdsmen were looked down upon by villagers as having a lowly occupation. On the
social pyramid they were on the second level right above the unskilled workers.
